Nuclear Medicine

Why I Chose This Major
I chose nuclear medicine because I’m really interested in how science and technology can help people. Learning the differences in the field and about how radioisotopes are used to detect and treat diseases feels like an exciting way to make a career.

Experience in the Field
As a freshman, I’m just starting to learn the basics of nuclear medicine. I’m currently focusing on understanding the science behind it, like the use of radioisotopes and imaging methods like PET scans. I plan on doing some job shadowing so will be getting into contact with the person(s) in charge of making that happen.
