Professional Mission Statement

As a public health professional focusing on toxicology, epidemiology, and risk management, I aim to prevent and mitigate the negative impacts of environmental hazards on public health. I am deeply interested in these areas because everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy environment, free from the harmful effects of toxins and other environmental hazards. Furthermore, I am raising two daughters of whom I want to live free from environmental harms. I asked myself, how can I become a voice in a world full of sinister environmental and toxicological harms? I feel working as a public health professional arms me with the best possible tools to protect my children as well as our communities.

Through my work, I aim to use my expertise in toxicology and epidemiology to identify and evaluate the health risks associated with exposure to toxic substances. I will work with public health agencies, policymakers, and community stakeholders to develop evidence-based strategies to mitigate those risks and protect the health of affected populations. I believe in a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach integrating stakeholders’ perspectives from diverse fields and backgrounds to create effective and equitable solutions.

I am committed to advancing the public health field by contributing to research, policy development, and education. I will strive to stay up-to-date with the latest scientific findings and emerging technologies to ensure my work is grounded in the best available evidence. I will also actively engage with and mentor the next generation of public health professionals, passing on my knowledge and skills to ensure the field continues to grow and evolve.

My mission as a public health professional interested in toxicology, epidemiology, and risk management is to use my skills and expertise to create a healthier, safer, and more equitable world for all.
