OBJECTIVE: To obtain employment and leadership opportunities that will further my understanding and execution of music.

EDUCATION

Sept 2015 – June 2019        Hickory High School, Chesapeake, Virginia.

May 2019 – Current            Old Dominion University, Chesapeake Virginia

EXPERIENCE

July 2021 – Present             Great Pizza Co. Delivery Driver

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES:

·         Marching Band Section Leader – I was the clarinet section leader at Hickory High School for my senior year (2018-2019). Later, I became the saxophone section leader at ODU (2024-2025). I continued as the saxophone section leader in the basketball band season in the spring semester.

·         Musical Pit – I was one of the two woodwind specialists for the spring musical we would have at Hickory High School. I covered a variety of parts by myself for all 3 years I performed.

·         Instrument Inventory – At ODU, I helped manage the inventory of musical instruments used by the Monarch Marching Band, specifically the saxophones. Each season, I would keep track of how many of each type of saxophone we had, their condition, and what repairs would need to be made to keep them functional. I was also in charge of play-testing these instruments to see what each one did well and did badly.

VOLUNTEER WORK:

·         Great Bridge Presbyterian Church – I helped with tech set up and control for Vacation Bible School and every other Sunday. Also, I would help as a backup musician if needed for smaller performances.

·         Virginia Wind Symphony – I am a clarinet player for the Virginia Wind Symphony during my free time in college. I am still performing with the group as a way to help fill out the clarinet section and as a way to keep my instrumental skills up to par.

·         Gloucester Instrument Petting Zoo – I volunteered to help the incoming middle schoolers experiment with different instruments. It was mainly the saxophone and clarinet, but I drove there to help with any extra set up for the event and stayed to help with tear down after the 4-hour event had concluded.

·         Music Inventory – I would help organize and find specific pieces of music for the band directors of Hickory High School. This includes when we had to remove everything from the music library to get a new catalogue system up and running.
