My internship is at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center (CRH) with the Corporate Compliance Department. The corporate Compliance Department aids the hospital in efforts to fight fraud, waste, and abuse and to improve the efficiency of Medicaid and Medicare. CRH is the only independent, community-based hospital in Hampton Roads.

CRH is located in the heart of Chesapeake, Virginia boarding North Carolina. CRH provides healthcare services to both Virgnia and North Carolina communities. CRH mission is for the hospital and its affiliated partners to improve the health and well-being of the communities served. The values of CRH includes service, dignity, safety, integrity, and innovation.

My internship preceptor Rebecca Spildener is the compliance manager and auditor for Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Her responsibilities include overseeing contracts, grants, awards, developing and implementation of policies. Ensuring compliance with all governing agencies and responsible for the legal functioning of the healthcare organization.
