Artifact 3:

The artifact the most engaged me was Archive 11. This archive included naming ten people that I am familiar with and classify them as “Happy or Unhappy” and “Selfish and UnSelfish.” After classifying each individual, I took the total count of each individual who is either happy and unselfish or happy and selfish. Overall, most individuals in my study were happy and unselfish rather than being happy and selfish. In my reflective, I discussed that I was not really surprised that many people were classified as happy and unselfish; because in most cases; many individuals who are happy are considered unselfish. But when thinking about those individuals who were classified as selfish were indeed still happy.
This archive taught me that only that specific individual is responsible for their own happiness. So just because someone is selfish or vice versa, they can still be content within themselves if that is what they allow. This activity expanded my knowledge because in most cases the first thought of someone being selfish, doesn’t lead or connect to happiness. Not by any means should we as a society promote selfishness; but in some cases it is okay to be selfish and gain your own happiness if an individual sees fit.
Artifact 2:

When looking back at the items to archive activities, I enjoyed Module 10 the most. We come in contact with so many norms that we don’t even tend to question because we have never thought to question it. Within this item to archive, I choose to violate the norm of standing too close. I went to the Webb Center on campus, and began to start my experiment. Especially because we are facing a pandemic, I was very unaware of the reactions that I would be receiving. Many individuals either moved forward, simply left, or just asked if I could move back a little. While others didn’t necessarily have a problem with it. Ultimately, violating a norm did put me at unease a little, but I enjoyed the experience all together.
Artifact 1:

I think that the ‘Items to Archive’ that had me most engaged was the Archive from module 3. The archive from module 3 consisted of the different perspectives on the sang, ‘Similar attract’ and ‘opposites attract.’ I sent these certain questions to both my family and friends and asked them to answer the questions that were given, as well as give an explanation as to why the chose the answer that they did.
Because I am only prone to my perspective, I never really thought from other perspectives, such as the answers that I received from the people that I interviewed. Personally, I believe that people that are similar are attracted to each other more than those who are opposite. But, when interviewing others, I did get a few answers that opposites attract more because it can expand each other’s likes and dislikes. It was interesting to see the perspective and thought process of others rather than just mine, it did give me wider prospect of the topic which I thought was very exciting.
