While visiting my family in June my friend Gregory learned I was in Spanish class. Since he had taken Spanish the past 3 years and wanted to help me he took me to The Gloria Delgado Performing Arts Theatre, this was a Mexican American Culture Center in Austin. It was there we watched La Pastorela 2022. During the show Gregory would ask me questions about what I was comprehending about the show. He would also answer any questions I had due to any vocabulary I did not know yet. After the show we would be able to talk to the performers about the cultural importance of their parts of the show so I could better understand Mexican culture and the importance it has in society today.
