Reflection Letter

Throughout this semester I have learned many new techniques and better ways to improve my strategy’s to create a better seeking paper. When I first started writing part A of the argument project, I felt like I knew everything to a great paper. However, after receiving feedback from my classmates and professor, I knew I had to improve. When I started Part B of this project I was not as confident as the papers I wrote in my past. I had to take a different approach with the rest of the papers. I had to take time aside and research the format of a good annotated bibliography formatted paper to use as a guide. This gave me the tips to creating a paper that satisfied the requirements of a good annotated bibliography.

Part C, D, and E of this argument project really were interesting papers in my eyes because it gave me a chance to look deeper into my topic and create a more logical answer to the argument,” Should football players be able to kneel during the national anthem.” These two papers gave me a better mindset on the pros and the cons of the players kneeling. However, part C was more difficult to me because it was a paper to discuss both sides of the argument. While writing this paper I always swayed to the side that I favored on the topic. This is when I went to my peers to review my paper to see if I tended to lean on one’s side while writing. Part D really gave me a chance to speak on my side of the topic. This was my favorite paper to write throughout this semester for that specific reason. The paper that bought everything together is Part E.  When I first saw this paper, I thought that it was going to be difficult. However, after speaking to my professor, she mentioned that I had already done most of the research to use in this paper. Using that mindset, writing this paper was not difficult to overcome.

After pursuing through this argument project I really gained strength in my writing as a whole. I learned how to back up my own knowledge with research of other’s opinion. This was a huge strategy that helped me make the progress that I did through the semester.  This class has helped me become a better writer and a better speaker. The argument project has helped me in many of the classes that I currently take by providing good methods to research topics of my choice. Taking English 211, has been a great experience for me and I truly believe that it will play an important role in my future success.
