Although I did not work on any specific long-term projects during my internship, I was responsible for a variety of ongoing administrative and support tasks that contributed to the overall efficiency of the home health and hospice agency. My daily responsibilities included mailing out medication lists to hospice patients, conducting quality assurance calls to assess patient satisfaction, and notifying physicians when patients missed scheduled visits. These tasks required attention to detail and effective communication to ensure continuity of care.
Additionally, I assisted with scheduling adjustments by changing visit times when needed, uploaded important documents to patient charts to maintain up-to-date records, and contacted pharmacies to inform them of patient discharges. Each of these duties played an important role in the administrative flow of patient care services and helped me gain a clearer understanding of the coordination involved in home health and hospice care.
