So how do the “principles of science” relate to cybersecurity. All seven of the principles of science (Relativism, Determinism, Ethical Neutrality, Empiricism, Skepticism, Parsimony, and Objectivity) can be related to cybersecurity in at least some manner.
With Relativism, you can connect other fields evolving as having an effect on cybersecurity and will continue to do so as they develop themselves. With Determinism, we have to look at why criminals commit cybercrimes. With Ethical Neutrality, we have to look at the Ethical effects of cybercrime and if the punishment is Ethical or not. With Empiricism, it’s hard to exactly connect it to cybersecurity other than not allowing our own bias’s or opinions to determine how we look at the field. With Objectivity, it’s similar to Empiricism where we have to not let our opinions shape our research into the field.
