Week 3 – Journal Entry

PrivacyRights.org is a site dedicated to showing every data breach that has happened in the United States, or at least the ones that are publically reported. Researchers might use this information to study how the breaches take place. For each breach, the site gives information such as: The Sum of Records Impacted, The type of breach and an explanation of how the breach happened. This information can be studied to protect against future breaches by fixing the loopholes that were used against other companies. On some entries, they give a detailed description of what happened and the aftermath, but not on all.
