Assignment 5 Takeaway
This assignment was a lot of fun for me as I really enjoy helping people and doing nice things for others. I do not believe my life would have changed much by implementing this rule into my life as I already try to reach out and help people as much as I can. One of my favorite “good deeds” I discussed in my assignment was getting gifts made for my rodeo finals gift exchange. I did not know hardly any of the other girls, but they all loved the personalized coffee mugs I gave them and I believe it allowed us to all get to know each other a bit better. It made us feel more like a team going into the finals than competitors and made the finals a lot more fun. My representative image depicts our group picture before the competition started. I believe the world would be a better place if people were nicer and helped others more often.
Assignment 4 Takeaway
I thought this assignment was extremely interesting. I had never taken a love questionnaire before and it was very interesting to see where I scored. For the most part, I scored fairly consistently with the averages for other women in most of the love style categories. In two sections, however I scored much higher (I had lower numerical scores, which translated to high scores in that kind of love due to the inverse relationship the test created). These two categories were the Eros and Agape categories. These categories have to do with early attraction in the relationship and an all loving and giving relationship. Both of which are very much characteristics of my current relationship. Overall, I agreed with my scores. I scored low in the categories of love having to do with deception and manipulation, love planning, and love and friendship categories. This also holds true with my personal beliefs as well as my current relationship as there is no deception in my relationship, there was definitely not a lot of planning that went into my boyfriend and I’s beginning of our relationship because it actually began at kind of a difficult time for a long-term relationship as I was getting ready to move away for college, and we were not close friends before we started dating. I definitely believe my current relationship had a lot of influence on my scores as almost all of my scores reflect characteristics of my relationship with Ryan. The picture I chose is one of my favorites of Ryan and I because after all I believe my scores were most influenced by our love for one another.

For this assignment, I focused my writing on the fact that the comedian’s comments although extremely inappropriate, originated from his anger in the moment and not from deep repressed racial prejudices. I explained how everyone says things in the heat of an argument or moment of anger that they do not truly mean and I believe this was the case in this situation. Especially after doing more research and finding the apology Richards issued and the lack of any information on any similar situations involving Richards, I think this was a big mistake that he probably regrets. He was extremely irritated at the hecklers and expressed his anger in the wrong way. The picture I chose to accompany this takeaway is a pencil trying to erase the word mistake written in ink. I believe this represents Michael Richards’ situation as he will never be able to erase this mistake, but that is what I believe it was, a mistake.
Assignment 2 Takeaway
I truly enjoyed this assignment. I am a very busy person and am always trying to do my best by others that I rarely take the time to reflect on myself. This assignment gave me the opportunity to do that as well as look through some of my favorite pictures, which brings up great memories, thoughts, and conversations. Many times after doing school work I feel drained, but after completing this self-portrait assignment I felt relaxed and in a way refreshed. I truly enjoyed getting to pick a picture that represented each part of what makes me, me. I believe that pictures are a great way to capture personalities.
For the picture I have included with this synopsis, I chose one that I did not choose for my assignment, but reflects a combination of a few of the things I discussed in my assignment that make me who I am. First of all it includes my horse, Zip. Horses in general and specifically this horse have a huge influence on my life. Secondly, this picture includes my little sister, which represents the love I have for my family and how they truly are my rock. Lastly, the context of this picture was at a huge competition where my sister had done very well in her class riding my horse (pictured). This represents my love of sharing my passion for horses and riding with others, a part of me I did not get a chance to mention in my assignment.
