neglect and poverty created a world where robbing banks was not so bad for the females. The feamles live in dowtown L.A. in the transitional zone. Two scenes that depict this are Frankie losing her job and TT losing custody of her son. When Frankie is fired from her job, she is accused of being a part of the bank robbery, and without warning, she loses her job. This shows systematic injustice towards her. Despite
her working long hours and showing up to work every day, her boss still lets her go. This
leaves her with no job. She is angry and frustrated with this system. Robbing the bank was
her means of survival. TT losing her son is a key moment of poverty. TT did not have enough income to pay for a babysitter. She is also desperate to get her son back. She was willing to die for him. This made her more susceptible to wanting to rob banks. This theory effectively explains how their circumstances led them to be criminals.
