Today at the cybersecurity career connections event I stopped by CHKD, Sentara, Naval Information Warfare Center, Light Grid, ManTech, and FBI. A lot of the jobs offered paid internships which I found very interesting. I asked all of the employees the same questions: Do they offer internships, can I be hired after I graduate, and what are the benefits that come with working with the company? The most interesting employer to me was the naval information warfare center. The employer answered all of my questions thoroughly and gave me a couple of souvenirs. As a NIWC intern, you can focus on school, and then go back as an intern whenever you want. Once you become a full time employee, you can get up to 12 pay raises. I also liked how they give you a total of 37 days off including holidays. This is very important to me as a lot of companies can overwork you and interfere with your daily life.
