Comparing Cybersecurity risks in the United States with another country.

The internet is a place where people can cause a lot of cyber-crime all over the world. Different countries have different ways of managing it and as well as get different types of attack based on different things such as its economy how much business is involved and whether or not the internet is accessible (Kigerl). The top five countries of cyber-crime activity are America, China, Brazil, Germany, and India (Kigerl). Email spam makes up 72% of all emails in the whole world (Kigerl). A lot of this is spam which we just think of as something being annoying but can also be harmful. The United Sates is by far the most targeted by phishing attacks, suffering 60% of worldwide phishing volumes (Kigerl). Most of these attacks are business related targets which the United States has a lot of. China and the United States have always been at each other’s throats since the internet has become prevalent. When looking at the two countries both have similar attacks made towards them and are often accusing each other (Lieberthal and Singer W.)  These attacks can be anything from political protest or even blackmail. The bigger the country’s infrastructure means that more threats will come to them. China and the United States both are in the top five of most types of cyber related attacks (Kigerl). In China it seems to be more sensitive material that is targeted while the U.S. has this as well it feels more related to money than anything. Countries like Nigeria are well known for spamming and trying to get money from people around the world particularly in places with high internet usage such as the United States (Kigerl). These schemes can also be seen in South Africa, Ghana, and even in the United States (Kigerl). Although China is a very large country it is not as readily accessible as the United States is which leads to more specific types of intrusion such as malware.
