Engineers play a major role in the creation of cyber networks by designing, implementing, and maintaining varies security measures. One of the ways is performing risk assessments to identify a potential attack in the system and create strategies to shorten their risk of an attack. Another would be designing security architectures that are fit to the needs of the specific system. For example implementing secure network designs, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, along with other security procedures. Also engineers create encryptions that protect and secure data transmissions. They can also implement control limits that can prevent access to data that is not meant for the user to see. Access control allows people with the least power only have access to information required to complete job task. Another thing they regularly do is run test on the system and monitor them for any type of intrusion or unauthorized access. Engineers also update the system to the date so that the security patches are at the best they can be in case of any attacks. With these updates we can fix any wholes a system that are found in the previous update. Engineers also give out training and raise awareness for everyone including employees, customers, and partners to help them better understand their roles in keeping security to the system and where to find potential threats. Overall the role of engineer in cybersecurity plays a massive role in the creation, implementing and updating to insure that cyber security is ever evolving. Engineers work with cybersecurity to constantly evolve programs and teaching to insure that people can stay safe on the internet and fully understand what to look out for in a potential threats and risk to a system, companies and individuals.
