There are many benefits of implementing cybersecurity programs into any business. An example of a benefit would be the feeling of being free from the stress that comes with running a business in the cyber world. Also with the stress free environment that cyber security programs introduce comes smoother work with employees not having to worry as much about information moving about the business being given to the wrong people or unauthorized individuals or groups. Along with employee peace of mind while working, the customers can also rest at ease when they know their information and money are going to the right people. When a company establishes a good cyber security program it allows for customers to trust the company which would increase sales and returning customers. Finally, cyber security programs can keep businesses from being attacked and losing a lot of valuable information. For smaller businesses almost any cyber attack can mean life or death for the company, but with cyber security programs in place the chances of an attack are significantly smaller. With the benefits of cyber security comes the cost. With cyber security becoming a more new field of profession, there are less professionals, so the cost of cyber security professionals is very high. Another issue that arises when it comes to implementing cyber security programs is training employees on what is safe or not. With cybersecurity being such a new field of concern, it is difficult to teach to employees new programs that are required in their place of work. Along with cyber security programs difficult to teach, it is all worthless if an attacker is still able to infiltrate the system. In conclusion, cyber security programs have their benefits and their downsides as most things do, but overall having something in place to protect a system will always be better then no protection at all.
