Interview a Health Professional

My health professional I interviewed was Mrs. Renee Brothers she is hematology nurse. She works at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia that she loves tremendously. Mrs. Brothers has her BS in nursing and she also has two certifications she needed before taking her NCLEX which were Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology nurse, and Oncology certified nurse. She said what inspired her was volunteering in the hospital when she was young and seeing the nurses fulfilling their duties. Her path to her career was getting her BSN going to clinicals and getting her certifications and passing her exam. Her basic roles and responsibilities would be to collect blood samples, starting IVs, and help with blood transfusions. Her moat rewarding aspect of her job would be starting IV’s she loves assembling the IV’s and sticking the patient. The surprising aspect would be the patients and how they react to needles. Her most challenging aspect would be the patients and trying to get them comfortable with the needle and make sure they don’t freak out. The advice she gave was try your hardest in school and make good grades concentrate, and study.
