I study for each class by referring\nto my notes and doing some additional research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>What <strong>specific <\/strong>techniques do you use<strong>\n      in class?&nbsp; The specific technique I use in class is active listening\n      and repeating the words in my head after the instructors says it. <\/strong><\/li><li>What <strong>specific <\/strong>techniques do you use <strong>outside\n      of class?<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;Specific techniques I use outside of class would\n      be repetition of me reading my notes and doing extra research on it <\/li><li>Identify <strong>one class in which you are doing\n     well<\/strong> (not HLTH 101). &nbsp; What study methods work best and <strong>why?\n     One class I a doing well in other than HLTH 101 would be intro to chem.\n     For me the study method that works best is reviewing, repetition, and\n     extra review<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STEP 2: IDENTIFY AND APPLY NEW\nLEARNING TECHNIQUES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Identify one class (other than HLTH\n101) where you are experiencing challenges and <strong>address the following\nquestions.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Image retrieved from: <a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2013\/01\/thinking-about-metacognition\/\">https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/2013\/01\/thinking-about-metacognition\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Planning: The strategies\nI will use to study are study groups, challenging myself with practice quizzes,\nand going to office hours for review sessions. <\/li><li>I plan on studying for\n45 minutes a day for each subject.<\/li><li>&nbsp;I plan on studying the chapters and notes I\ntook in class and looking over the power points from class <\/li><li>The materials I should\nspend more time on are the ones we went over in class and try to understand the\nthings I don\u2019t understand<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monitoring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Taking a 10-minute\nreview session after I study to make sure I thoroughly understand the materials<ul><li>By going to the student\nsuccess center and going to tutoring sessions <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>I am not struggling with\nmy motivation to study because when I study, I study hard <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>I haven\u2019t had any\nconfusions but if I did I would either email my instructor or go to their\noffice hours and figure it out.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>I don\u2019t have any\nconfusions that remain but if I did, I would try to use my resources I have\nhere on campus <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Evaluating <ul><li>For the next exam I\nshould study and read through my exam thoroughly and not overwork myself<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Something I won\u2019t do for\nthe next exam is try and cram in all my information and underestimate myself <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Review <strong>at least 5<\/strong> academic\ntips\/resources listed here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/success\/academic\/tips\">https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/success\/academic\/tips<\/a>. <strong>Which\n5<\/strong> tips did you review, and <strong>what is one new<\/strong> technique you could try <strong>in\nclass<\/strong> to help you better understand the material?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I reviewed set priorities, overcome\nprocrastination, before the test tips, during the test tips, and get organized.\n&nbsp;One new technique I will use is getting\norganized and planning out when I\u2019m going to do upcoming assignments <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>What is <strong>one new technique<\/strong> you\ncould try <strong>outside of class<\/strong> to help you better understand the material?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>\nOne new technique I will use outside of class would be overcoming\nprocrastination so that I can get the job done and making sure I got the extra\nmile to get the work done <br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>STEP 1: EVALUATE YOUR STUDY HABITS Describe your current methods of study.
