I participated during the daytime
from 2-5pm on a Tuesday. During this experience I explained and helped people
who came in. I showed them what the number of items and what items they could
have based on the size of their household.

Please write a description of the Community
     Partner(s) by answering these questions:

Their purpose and mission is to help serve the
needs of people in the ODU community. They provide nonperishable items and
toiletries for the people who come in.
The needs of the community they address are hunger and lack of toiletries
supplies for people who need them.

After reflecting on your service-learning
activity/activities how have your values, opinions, and/or beliefs
     changed? Be specific.

They haven’t really changed much but now I value
what God has given me much more. I value that I have food in my house, and we
don’t have to go to a pantry. And I value all that God has done for me and my
family.

Describe any health-related experience you had prior
     to the Fall 2019 semester.

Based on the experience you listed above and, in
your service, -learning experience, how have those impacted your desire to
pursue a career in ____________?

Prior to Fall 2019 I was in a medical assisting
program at my high school and we had to do internships at medical places. And a
couple weeks before school started, I did a medical camp called camp cardiac at
EVMS we learned about the heart and how to do blood pressure. We also got to
dissect a pig’s heart. My service-learning
experience really didn’t impact my desire to pursue nursing it just showed me
to be more appreciative of things I do have.

Thinking about the service-learning experience, and
     community partner:

How do these services relate to your intended
career field?

These services relate to my intended field because
it showed me to a have a little more compassion. Especially with people
I don’t know because you never know what someone is going through. And
to be grateful for what you have in life because anything can happen to
       you

What Degree Program (other than your current
major) could it relate to?

It could relate to Public health. Because you’re
working with public. But you’re not only working with the person but
also what the person is dealing with. You have to put your feelings to
the side and help them with theirs.

Would you choose to pursue that major as your
parallel major?

Because I can still work in the medical field. And
help people while I’m at and still get paid for doing something I love.
Which is helping people and taking care of their needs.

Why or why not?

Because I can still help and do what I love. And
still work in the medical field and medical facilities such as
       hospitals, etc.

Study habits

How much time do you spend studying for each
class now vs. at the beginning of the semester?

I study a lot more now than when first started I
study for like 3-3 ½ hours with 10 minutes brakes in between. I study
for the amount of days I have that class and times it by two. So that I
can get a better understanding of what I’m learning

How have your study habits changes?

I study more on the regular. I’m getting into the
habit of going to the library to study. Rather than studying in my room
so I don’t get distracted by my TV or any other outside forces.

What specific study techniques do you think work
best for you? How do these vary from class to class?

I like to read my notes then quiz my self and try to work out practice problems. So that I can actually know what I’m doing when its time to do it. And rewrite my notes from PowerPoints from class.

Transition to college

What did you expect college would be like 14 weeks ago?

I expected college to be exactly like how it is.
Nothing more nothing less. Including the work, classes, and the people.

What is a resource or activity you have found
helpful this semester?

The library is a resource I have found helpful
this semester. Literally almost everything you need in college is at the
library at your disposal. Like E-portfolio help, Student Success Center,
       Writing center, etc.

What is a resource or activity you have found
unhelpful this semester?

I haven’t found any resource this semester
unhelpful. Because any help whether its good or bad is help.

What is something you wish you knew 14 weeks
ago?

That I was going have to study harder than I did
in high school. And that working problems out and asking questions is better
than being clueless. And that planning your things out and studying on
set days is better than just trying to cram same thing with homework.

Name something you have learned this semester
that will assist you next semester.

Mostly everything that is in the library and
everything they advertise at Preview. Such as the writing center for my
papers. And The student Success center

ent 2;\\

List the service-learning activity or activities you participated in.
