Cybersecurity Principles

This course provides an overview of the field of cybersecurity. It covers core cybersecurity topics including computer system architectures, critical infrastructures, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, cryptography, cryptographic protocol design, information assurance, network security, and risk assessment and management. Students are expected to become familiar with fundamental security concepts, technologies and practices, and develop a foundation for further study in cybersecurity.

Short Analytical Paper 1

The purpose of this written assignment is to increase the students’ knowledge of a Cybersecurity Learning Objective of their choice.  It also introduces the graduate student to the basics of academic research writing skills in terms of the APA formatting and style guide.

  • The topic for the short analytical papers can be on anything in any of the previous or current modules.
  • Tasks with Directions
    • Select Learning Objective from one of the modules within this Unit.
    • Research and perform a literature review of scholarly peered reviewed articles, materials on the selective topic; reference and cite these articles in APA.  
    • Write an academic paper per the format guide and per APA; use references for citations from your literature review efforts.
