I worked at Golden Corral near Military Highway for about two years now. Golden Corral was my first job, and I didn’t think that I’d get it at first, until I went through two weeks of training under my supervisor, Shellye. I was a high school senior when I started working at Golden Corral, and in the beginning I was super excited to finally have my first job. The first few weeks were a breeze. I was receiving big tips, and meeting many nice people from all over the world and from different backgrounds. It was not until finals came into the light, and I saw myself making mistakes in my job. I was forgetting drinks, and accidentally leaving dirty plates on tables where new customers wanted to sit. Shellye noticed that I was slacking behind, and when I told her about my situation in school, she helped me by getting a few of my tables drinks and by cleaning out my tables for me when I felt overwhelmed. As a year passed by, everything became easier, and Shellye would tell me that I improved so much than when she first saw me in training. I enjoy working as a Food Server/Waiter, as I was able to meet new people, and gain new experiences every day. I would tell my friends all the funny, awkward and crazy experiences I’d have during work, and encourage them to look for jobs too. Applying to Golden Corral was by far, the best decision I’ve made in my life, and I can’t stop wondering where I’m going to end up next.
