In my UNIV 150 class we had two oral presentations. The first oral presentation my class was assigned was terrifying to me as I still had stage fright at the time. I’ve tried to overcome this issue by making a few friends in class, which helped a little bit. As it was time to present our oral presentations number one, I didn’t want to go first. My friend in the class, Philip, calmed me down by telling me that I’ll do fine and to just breathe. When It came to people not raising their hands to go next, it was awkwardly quiet and the tension started rising. I knew I had to present eventually so I went and volunteered to go next just so to get it over with. Walking towards the front was a big challenge too, but I was able to have some insight on the situation that I was in. In the previous semester, I took a public speaking class that held about twenty students. I realized that I’ve done speeches in front of a bigger audience before, as my class only contains ten students, three of which never show up to class. Having this in mind, I smiled and went on with my presentation with a smile.
