Journal #9 What was your favorite subject in high school ?
Throughout high school I hated every single subject as it required a lot of thinking and hard work. It was then I took astronomy with a close friend, and it wasn’t like any class I’ve taken before. It was like a mixture of science mixed with history and art, where we learned about NASA and their many attempts to launch their rocket, while also learning about gravity and their laws of psychics, and building arts and crafts of air powered rocket cars. Another reason why I enjoyed taking astronomy in high school was that it wasn’t just an regular high school course, but a college course as well. My astronomy teacher explained that the textbooks we were using were all college textbooks. And with me receiving a B+ in the class in the end, I felt even more prepared to take a college class int he future. One last reason that I enjoyed astronomy so much, was that it wasn’t only astronomy during the year, but it was divided into two classes for each semester. The first semester was meteorology, where we learned how to read weather maps, distinguish clouds and anomalies, and the differences between hurricanes and tornadoes. With meteorology, it connected with astronomy, and it shared some of the same vocabulary terms used, which made taking the class easier to pass.
