Module 11 Archive
My favorite Top Artifact from modules 11 to 14 was the one that we had assigned in module 11. One of the main reasons for that is that it is because I simply enjoyed completing it a lot. First, categorizing the colors and then adding emotions to each one was very entertaining, and it made me realize things even before reading the explanation that we had at the end of the page. I could not find many similarities between the first part of the exercise and the second one, but I still had some interesting conclusions that I addressed in my analysis.
Once I read the explanation at the end, I was able to relate the whole exercise to cross-cultural psychology. It amazed me to learn that the way that certain colors make us feel is connected to different cultures. So now I am very interested in knowing how my culture (Argentian) sees colors.
Top Artifact 3
Category 1: black, grey, white
Rationale: neutral colors
Category 2: red, orange, yellow, purple, brown, pink
Rationale: warm colors
Category 3: blue, green, violet
Rationale: cold colors
- Black: depression 7. Pink: joy
- Blue: sadness 8. Purple: indifferent
- Brown: comfortable 9. Red: shock
- Gray: lifeless 10. Violet: passion
- Green: peace 11. White: calm
- Orange: excitement 12. Yellow: annoyed
I did not find any clear association between the way I categorized the color in the first part of the exercise and the emotions I assigned for each one of them. However, it was very interesting to think about the first emotion that comes into my head when I think about each one of them. For example, I like to wear black outfits a lot, but the emotion that came to my mind for that one was depression, and I do not feel like that represents me. I also came to the conclusion that colors do provoke emotions, but it also depends on where you see the color. If I walk into a room that has its walls painted red, I would certainly be shocked. However, if my friend wears a red outfit, I might not like it, but I do not think I will be shocked by it.
Module 10 Archive
I found significant differences between the different people. For example, I will wait for the longest for my parents, my boyfriend, and my best friend because I care a lot about them, and I also think that they would not make me wait on purpose, and they would feel bad about it because they care about me. But, on the other hand, I would wait the shortest for my client because he/she is the interested one in seeing me, and she/he has to accept the consequences if he/she does not show up on time, which in this case would be the cancellation of our appointment.
This Top Artifact was very interesting to me because it is something that I had never thought about before, but it affects my routine a lot. I consider myself an impatient person, but writing these numbers down made me realize how much I am willing to wait for the people I care about. There are different components in each relationship that made me decide what number to write, and it was nice to realize that they were all ligated to how important they are in my life.
