Protecting Availability

As a CISO for a publicly traded company, ensuring the availability of our systems is paramount to maintaining our operations, reputation, and customer trust. To achieve this, I would implement a multi-layered approach centered around redundancy, disaster recovery, and proactive monitoring. Key strategies would include establishing robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime during disruptions, deploying redundant network and data center infrastructures to eliminate single points of failure, and integrating DDoS mitigation tools to protect against malicious attempts to overload our systems. Regularly updating and patching software and systems would be critical to defending against vulnerabilities that could compromise availability. Additionally, implementing comprehensive backup solutions would ensure data integrity and quick recovery in the event of data loss or ransomware attacks. Real-time monitoring and incident response capabilities would enable us to detect and address issues promptly, minimizing potential impact on system availability. This comprehensive approach not only safeguards our systems against a wide range of threats but also supports our commitment to delivering reliable and uninterrupted services to our customers and stakeholders.
