My major relates to cybersecurity technology because the basis of this course relates to cybersecurity which is my major. Through this class I will be able to learn more in depth about how technology relates to cybersecurity and how it can be affected or protected. I am excited to learn more how about cybersecurity affects or protects us in a multitude of ways. Although I am interested in all of the ways cybersecurity is used in the world today, I am most interested in how it is used in businesses as well as how it affects politics, the legal system, and how to use it in the proper manner, or in other words, the ethics of cybersecurity. My goal for this course is to learn all of the basics and the background of cybersecurity so that I can approach my major with a larger knowledge base. One thing that has always grabbed my interest is the ever-evolving technology that is engineered and presented to the world. With the majority of these technologies being consumer products in all levels of society, they all can be vulnerable from hackers or any type of third-party. These devices must be protected, and I have been wanting to learn the best ways on how to do that; for existing defenses, I want to learn how I could make them better. Although there are many classes that go deep into the tools used in the cybersecurity profession, I need to learn the very basic fundamentals. How does cybersecurity affect our society, how does it affect technology, but most importantly, what really even is cybersecurity? It is unbelievable how modern technology is so vulnerable to attacks when the users do not know how to protect themselves. One of my hopes is to also learn more about dangers and how to protect myself and inform others about them.
