However, almost every person does not read what they say; if someone took the time to read through this, they could be quite horrified at what you are allowing these games or apps to access. It does not end at downloaded applications, keeping your computer safe also associates with the websites that you visit. Visiting malicious websites can be detrimental to the private information that is stored on your device as well. Taking preventative measures is a must. These measures include strong complex passwords, firewalls, a secure network, and user authentications. Understanding the data that you have on your computer will help you understand that you need to protect yourself from more than just someone stealing your laptop. Because of our advancements in technology, someone can hack into your computer and steal your private information without you knowing. Another example of attacks are called phishing scams. This is an occurrence where an email or message is sent to a potential victim and request private information to “verify” your information. If you open the email or message and go through with what the attacker is trying to get you to do. Unknowingly, you have just given yourself up for attack and identity theft. Working to incorporate strong safety precautions will protect you from attackers or scams. It is essential to also take a closer look at what you are allowing apps to access by agreeing to their terms and conditions. It is very sneaky of them but reading through their conditions may save you from giving up personal information. All of this will ensure a safe computer or device.
