Social Cybersecurity
Through I read the article “Social Cybersecurity: Protecting the Human Element” from Military Review; it made me think deeply about the cybersecurity field, and it left me with a lot of questions. This article was giving different points, such as that the traditional cybersecurity that relies on just technology and systems is not enough these days; instead, it is asking for a wilder point of view to this field and focusing on the human element. Furthermore, one of the main things that this article was aiming at was the idea that humans are the weakest point in any system, but they are the most important part in defense in cybersecurity. The article has mentioned how social media can lead to misinformation and psychological harm to humans, and the attackers are always using human behavior to get into systems rather than trying to explore the vulnerabilities in systems. Overall, I agree with the article with the points it mentioned, such as that the traditional cybersecurity of focusing on only technology and systems is not enough anymore. Also, addressing the social media on cybersecurity may help to reduce threats such as misinformation, which is always aiming at human mistakes. However, technology is still important in this field among the human factors, and we need to educate individuals about such threats.
