Across the globe every country has some degree of cyber security risk. The United States of America and Canada have placed cyber security systems in place in fear of getting hacked from an unauthorized user in a enemy country. This is the most common fear for most countries in the world. This is the most important reason because if hacked the unauthorized user would be able to shut down the defensive systems and leave the country vulnerable to an attack. Another reason countries try to prevent hackers from gaining access is because they have valuable information which could be deadly if accessed by an enemy. The United States and Canada also have cyber security protection installed not just for international hackers but also from hackers in their country. This could be just as dangerous because the unauthorized user gained access and was able to steal information the user could potentially sell that information for individual gain. This could still lead to the country being vulnerable to attacks or the loss of information. The threat of international risk and home land risk causes countries all over the world to try and stay up to date with the newest cyber security programs. If countries didn’t invest money or time into cyber security it could potentially leave them at risk of attacks or invasion of privacy. The investment on cyber security is worth it as it keeps the nation’s information safe and the citizens in the country. I believe cyber security will only increase as time continues because of how the world is going more and more technical everyday. Overall the primary use of cyber security for countries such as The United States of America and Canada is to prevent hackers from gaining unauthorized access and trying to keep sensitive information from getting into the wrong hands.
