My major is cyber security. Cyber Security is the process of making the web a safer place. This is down in multiple ways such as installing software, firewalls and other security devices on the web in order to ensure they have complete privacy when using the web. This major has a direct relationship to cybersecurity technology because the technology used in cyber security is used in order to keep the web safe. Technologies in cyber security can be firewalls, software or password protections installed like two way authorization. These technologies all have a different role in keeping the cyber world a safe place, Firewalls are used in order to try and prevent hackers from entering the system with out proper authorization. Firewalls primarily fight off black hats. Another cyber security technology are software’s installed in order to keep security systems up to date. These soft wares must constantly be up to date in order to keep up with advancements from hackers and other cyber criminals. Dual authorization is another example of cybersecurity technology as it ensures that the user is who they say they are in order to protect the computers information. This works as the user must enter the password and confirm an email or text message so there are two forms of making sure it is the right person. This is commonly found on ODU blackboards website and many others. Overall, cybersecurity has a direct relation to cybersecurity technology because they both ensure the web is a safe place to use and ensure the users privacy is not at stake of being hacked or attacked by cybercriminals. It is very important for hackers not gain access to personal system in order to keep peoples privacy safe and personal information. The world of cyber criminals are expanding every day.
