I am interested in cybersecurity because I like to break down the mind of a hacker and why they do what they do as well as what they will or can gain from it and how to put a stop to them. I also like to engage in hands on task and problem solving. Cybersecurity has a big network of opportunities when it comes to the field alone. Millions of possibilities in what I can gain in knowledge. Every day the internet is growing and expanding and being able to understand it and help prevent people from being scammed and taken advantage of is what I want to do as a career choice. I cannot wait to start my journey into the steam field as a young African American female.

The Four majors that line up with cybersecurity is Criminal justice, Information systems, Computer science and Computer Programming and here is why. Criminal justice and cyber security are linked as they are both in position to safeguard something or somebody’s privacy. Without criminal justice I feel as if people who commit to such crime would probably not face any consequences unfortunately. Computer science is involved with software, concepts, and systems that employ cyber security to keep them from becoming altered or stolen.
