Visit PrivacyRights.org to see the types of publicly available information about data breaches. How might researchers use this information to study breaches?

After reading some of the reports and articles I believe PrivacyRights.org can be very useful in studying breaches. One way I think researchers can use this website is by studying the cases discussed in some of the articles. In many of the articles case details were spoken on thoroughly so many researchers could learn from how other companies failed to protect their assets and add to their protocols to make sure they cover however the victim company was attacked. Another thing a researcher can learn is how data breaches affect corporations for example an article talks about how the Equifax settlement was for $425 million and affected 147 million Americans. For a person who may not be in the cybersecurity field, it can benefit you by learning the risk of data how to reduce breaches, and what to look for if you are concerned if something looks like a threat.
