Fake websites also known as phishing have been seen a lot more frequently in emails but there are many ways to spot if it is real or not. Walmart have been a corporation that has been victim to phishers making multiple fake websites so customers can type in their information. One interesting way to notice if a website is fake is if the website says http instead of https(i.e.; http.walmart.com). Attackers use this method because the common person does not know what HTTPS stands for so they don’t check for it. Another interesting tactic attackers use is changing a letter or adding one in a place where it wouldn’t be noticeable to the common person (i.e.; http.Gamesstop.com). This would look like a real website but the extras is a giveaway to show that it’s not real. The last example is when attackers make these fake websites to look real by including things like policies but they use similar policies for other fake policies so if a person worries about the site being false they can look the policy up on Google and find out if it’s real or not.
