“These girls put up preps, learned how to squish, and even did shoulder stunts. They are all so talented. I couldn’t have asked for a better team. These girls taught me a lot. I always reminded them how amazing they were and to never stop being them. I never knew how much these girls could touch my heart. I was excited to come every day to practice and all of the games. They gave me so much motivation even on my bad days. They were always checking on me no matter what. If I could not make a practice they made sure to loudly welcome me back when I walked through the door. Parents, thank you for trusting me and allowing me to work with your daughters every day. I can’t repeat enough how mannerly and caring they all are. From all the hair ties, lost ribbons, and dance sessions it was an amazing season. In the end, I truly had so much fun coaching this wonderful group of girls. My last words to you girls would be if your life stunt ever falls, allow that to give you the momentum to put it back up. Thank you.”
This is the last portion of my speech as a JV cheerleading coach. This is a very important speech. I gave this speech as a first-year coach. I was so nervous and proud of all of the girls on my team. This speech truly showed me that I love public speaking. It also gave me so much confidence for future speeches and pep talks. I loved recognizing the accomplishments that all the cheerleaders made over the middle school basketball season. This speech may not seem that important towards landing my dream job; however, it is. I want to show future employers that I can communicate well, change my tone towards who I am speaking too, gain confidence in tasks, and more. I learned so many things from the middle school girls, and I hope they valued me as a coach as much as I valued them.
