Topic: My Interests Based on The NICE Framework
The NICE Workforce Framework is a resource developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education to help organizations identify and categorize cybersecurity workforce roles and skills.
1. Operate and maintain – This category interests me because it focuses on the day-to-day tasks of managing and ensuring the security of systems and networks. I find this aspect of cybersecurity intriguing as it requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
2. Analyze – Analyzing data and identifying trends in cyber threats is crucial for preventing attacks and improving overall security posture. I am interested in this category as it involves critical thinking and strategic decision-making.
3. Oversee and govern – Effective governance is essential for setting policies, making decisions, and ensuring compliance with regulations. I am interested in this category as it involves leadership, communication, and risk management skills.
My lowest ranked category is investigate because it seems more focused on forensics and legal aspects of cybersecurity investigations. While this is an important aspect of cybersecurity work, I am more drawn to the proactive roles involved in overseeing, operating, maintaining, and analyzing security measures.
