This whole article is about how information war is the main type of war now and I completely agree. Information has been fought over for years because it is necessary in order to have an upper hand, that is the entire point if recon squads in the military and equivalents that have been around since ancient societies. Spy’s and stealth operations have existed for as long as two separate nations have existed, because to have the upper hand you needed more information. This is why it is now a main concern because it is easier to find information and systems have to be used in order to keep the information secure making those very valuable. When we go into a full information war it will be dangerous for everyone involved and the only way for us to combat it is to be educated on how to safely use technology. This article highlights some methods that are used to move information around to secure it and this is the exact same as moving your forces on a battlefield. I think that investing time and energy into information security systems is part of how we can keep our people safe, but it needs to happen fast because we do not know when or how adversary’s may strike.
