Hello everyone! I am 26 years old and completing my degree in cybersecurity through ODUonline. After high school I enrolled in VCU for computer engineering. I discovered quite fast that I was not completely sure of myself and my position in life. I went back home to spend a couple years working low-level jobs before enlisting into the Coast Guard. I spent the next couple years in the USCG and gained professional culinary experience. As much as I appreciate the skills I developed and cherish my ability to cook — I yet again felt out of place. I quickly finished out my associates and worked through a lot of major interest changes from physical therapy, bioinformatics, business IT and finally to cybersecurity. I now hold an IT internship with the Virginia Railway Express and feel comfortable in my choice of major. As an online transfer student my courses were not taken in the traditional order. This is actually my first semester as a senior. I am on track to graduate in May.
