When reviewing the fake websites I found it could be quite difficult to tell if they are real or not. The reason for that is because most of the time when you google searching to order items most people don’t go too far into detail if the website looks normal. Which could explain why people often become victims of a cyber scam. Which could also end badly for them if they gave the website all of their personal information. 

So when looking at the websites I found is that if it’s too good to be true it’s probably not true. For example, one of the websites it was showing on said that all of the jewelry was free. When looking at the jewelry it was diamond chains, necklaces, and rings. When I saw that it gave me the first red flag. Because why would someone just give these items for free? Following that when I added the item to the cart it would ask me to plug in my card information. Then there is where I figured out it had to be a scam of some sort. When comparing it to a real jewelry website it can be easier to see it’s real. Reason for it shows the customer reviews and also it gives prices that make much more sense. 

Following that I founded a fake airline website. The fake airline website was kinda more obvious for me to tell it was fake. The reason was because of its URL. The URL of the fake airline website had a “.shop”. When comparing it to most airline websites it usually has “.com” or “.net”. So for that one it was easy. 

Lastly, I found this designer brand fake website. When I found the fake designer brand fake website, I compared it to the real designer brand website. To start off first the URL was also a problem for this fake website because it had “.hbcfgjd.top”. When seeing that as a customer Im know something is up. Following that I went to its “About us” page. When reviewing that page it said to go to “hbcfgjd.top” was the name of the online store. Now if the brand isn’t “hbcfgjd.top” why would I have it as its name? This one could be tricky to customers of the brand if they didn’t go to the “About me” page or pay attention to the URL. Because it didn’t show any crazy sales or anything like that.
