When viewing how the media influences cybersecurity, it could be very tricky. To start off with, someone could simply watch a movie that involves breaking some kind of code on a computer. Now when watching that happen we would have to pay attention to how they were doing it to see if they were doing something realistic or not. Reason for the video showed that most films do a lot of non realistic stuff to make the show look more eye-catching. Now how a show could do that is fairly easy. For example, in one film shown in the youtube video, it had an IP address that begins with 300. Having said that, someone in the cybersecurity field should’ve known that was fake because of an IP address because the highest it can go to is 255. Another example of how some media influences cyber security is how fast one does hacking. In a lot of films they will have someone who would perform a series of hacks all in one day. While realistic most of them hacks to solve one would have taken multiple nights. But in some way the media has shown the understanding that someone in the cybersecurity field could easily gain access to your private information. For example, in the youtube video there was a film where they gain someone’s private information by plugging it into hacking devices. So to answer this question honestly, it really truly depends on what media you watch at the time and how they shape/paint cybersecurity.
