Journal #14

After reviewing what Andriy Slynchuk has described the eleven things internet users do that may be illegal, I believe five of them stand out the most out of the eleven. To start off with I would say bullying and trolling is one the serious violations. The reason I believe that is because bullying/trolling can make people do self harm. Another one out of the eleven that is a serious offense is collecting information about children. Collecting information about children is serious because it’s a violation when it comes to giving consent. Next, I would say faking your identity online. The reason I believe that faking your identity online is a serious problem is because it gives the power to someone to pretend to be you and they could commit cybercrimes by pretending to be you. Following that, using other peoples internet networks should be illegal in all places. Even though most of the time it’s the person’s fault for not putting a password on their internet it should be illegal because it gives someone the opportunity to access your data. Lastly, I believe illegal searches on the internet is also a serious violation. The reason I believe this is a serious offense is because people could make inappropriate searches. For example, if someone was to Google search looking for child pornography.
