Outside of school, I had partaken in multiple activities such as intramural sports, homeless shelters, and being involved in church groups where I created many long-term friendships. An event that I gained the most experience from was when I volunteered to prepare food and hygiene kits for the less unfortunate. Around early December 2015 when it began to freeze, my church and I decided to give a helping hand to the people that needed it the most. I encountered a number a people that were living in small tents and were only wearing t-shirts. I was greatly humbled due to the fact that they were good spirited and very appreciative of everything regardless of their current situations. Attending private school most of my life, I realized how much of an advantage I already had. I remember them telling their stories on how they became homeless and how it affected the way I perceived my daily life. This event has helped me to progressively better myself as a person, and to always help those who are in need of help.
