Information Technology or IT is the management of computer-based information systems like software and hardware. Their job is to protect its ability to function, protect all data that is collected and used, and their primary goal is to keep all the information confidential. Information Technology is a compartment inside of cybersecurity because they both have the same goal of protecting the data and information that they gain. Philosophy is another major that can be used along with cybersecurity. Their job is to figure out why the data they have found or private, are they using what they have collected as an advantage to serve the public, and answering any questions that may not have been answered about cybersecurity. Philosophy is all based on logic and basic concepts of field of knowledge, with that deep diving into the understanding of cybersecurity would be a great way to start a career in that path. Computer Science is another major running alongside cybersecurity. Understanding the workings of a computer is a great source of knowledge to have when working in the department of cybersecurity. Lastly, Sociology is another major having to do with cybersecurity. The way humans behave and learn new concepts changes everyday, being able to be on top of that is a step in the right direction. Knowing the way people’s social groups interact online can easily be a gateway to seeing what they do online whether it is good or bad. Seeing the way people chat or their body language can say a lot more about a person than you think. Cybersecurity is a growing business and alot of spots need to be filled. There are so many different areas,to your liking, that you can go into. If computers spark your interest while something else sparks your interest too, there is definitely going to be a tie that brings them together.
