Hunter Morgan – Journal Entry 15
I think that Davin Teo’s pathway to the field of digital forensics is really quite inspiring. The fact that he was an accountant and just happened to stumble into the field is quite crazy. Especially crazy since he was at one of the big four accounting firms in the world. I also find it crazy what he spoke about later in the video regarding downloading speeds. He said that when he first entered the field it would take about five hours to download 10 GB of data. Nowadays, he said it will take him close to five hours to get one terabyte, which is the equivalent of 1000 gigabytes. The initial opportunity to enter the field, along with the progress the field itself has made throughout his time in the career, is really quite astonishing. I believe that digital forensics is a field that is growing more than ever, and we will need it as long as technology is around, which will most likely be forever.
