Cyber technology has been a great further advancement in our society. However, with these technological advancements, there has been a greater chance of criminals being more active on the web. Studies show that in real-world goes down when cybercrime goes up, the criminals are just finding new ways to do harm. While in the workplace this can especially be true because many workers may have more access and feel the need to be more deviant than they would usually be. How deviant a worker is could be dependent on the employers, work conditions, pay, and a few other factors that may make a worker commit more deviant behavior. If deviant behavior can work in the real world then it can happen within the cyber world.

In the real world, workplace deviance could be committed by stealing food, stealing items, sexual harassment, and showing hostility. Cyber deviance could include an employee getting fired and they feel as if they should lash out at the company. The former employee could take their coworker’s information and sell it or just give it out to people. This is very illegal and it could cause the company some serious damage as their reputation will go down. Cyber deviance could also include shutting down a companies security systems and firewalls. Making a company vulnerable to cyber attacks is a sure way to commit deviance in the workplace. It would be easier for hackers to infiltrate while the company is in this state.

In conclusion, the more that time goes on, the more cyber deviance will happen. Cyber technology has made room for workplace deviance by cybersecurity specialists having access to such information. While companies know that workers have info, there needs to be necessary precautions in case an employee is disgruntled enough to commit cyber deviance. Cyber technology advancements make companies more of a target to cyber deviance but it also helps as we can do more within companies.
