My First Semester <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have grown from the beginning of the semester. In the beginning, I knew it would get difficult, and when that time came, I started to get frustrated and didn\u2019t have any motivation to keep going. Eventually, I picked up my slack and started to study harder and do my work on time. My expectations for this year were that it was going to be hard, but I had to keep going. Something I wish I had known 14 weeks ago would be how much sleep I was going to lose. I always study at night, so I would be awake studying at 4 and 5 a.m., which is bad, yes, but it worked out for me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Study Habits <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the beginning of the semester, I rarely studied. I would always take notes, but I almost never studied. Shortly after, I realized that not studying was not going to help me be successful, so I made flashcards, completed practice worksheets, and watched a lot of videos to help me understand. My study habits have changed slightly, I still study at night, but now I study at home. I used to stay on campus and study in my dorm, the Web Center, and the library, but now I study at home all the time. Some study habits that I will carry on into the second semester are flash cards and YouTube videos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health Professions Learning Community <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of my courses were tied together in some ways when it came down to studying. They all require note-taking and long hours of studying. I didn\u2019t study much in the beginning, but I started to study in the middle towards the end of the semester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parallel Plan <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two other majors that I would be interested in would be Dental hygiene or Kinesiology. I find interest in those because it\u2019s still in the body-medical area compared to nursing. I thought about other paths I could take if I don\u2019t get accepted into the nursing program and those two could be an option. I think the benefit of having a parallel plan is to have a backup plan if my intended major doesn\u2019t work out. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
