Since technology has become much more advanced the interactions between offenders and victims have become much more different than when it was in the past. Normally in the past crime was committed more in person because technology wasn’t as advanced as it is now. Even though in the present time there are still people who commit crimes in person, ever since technology has become advanced more crime has happened in the cyber world than in person. In the cyber world criminals can commit multiple crimes that can have a damaging effect on the world. For instance, cybercriminals can hack into software and systems if there are vulnerabilities and gain access to valuable information that may be crucial to a person or an organization. This could be financial information where a person can lose all their money and this would count as robbery, not only that cybercriminals still get charged for the same crimes if it was in person. Another instance can be bullying and harassment, usually, bullying and harassment happen in person, but doing it online can be much more damaging and worse. People who are the victims of cyberbullying and online harassment can live with long-term trauma from these experiences, this would be another way how cyber technology can impact the interactions between offenders and victims. Since cybersecurity is changing quickly it’s hard to predict what will happen in the future to come and that aligns with different cyber polices and infrastructure. Some ways to approach this would be a daily monitoring of what goes on in the cyber world, to see if there are potential vulnerabilities that can be identified and suspicious activity by cybercriminals as well. These cyber policies can be updated as they go same as the infrastructure. Not only that the vulnerabilities can be fixed and avoided as well as coming up with defensive methods to protect certain software.
