The article discusses the cyber risks associated with young adults and the digital world.
How to Keep Young Adults Safe in the Cyber World?
The research question of how to keep young adults safe in a society dependent on technology and a
generational era so fond of its usage. The best way to safeguard young adults is cybersecurity education
(Lee, H. 2024). Influences psychologically and sociologically for young adults are greater because they
are heavily invested into social media, smartphones, and other levels of communication and sending
information over networks or through means of the internet. Young adults must understand the risk and
safeguard themselves and their personal information from cybercrime. The question of how to keep
young adults’ safe rests heavily on how well educated they are about cyber threats. Young adults must
understand the varying degrees of cybercrime and how they can easily become a cyber criminal’s target.
Cyber criminals understand the very nature of young adults and how readily they can sometimes be
divulging information particularly on their phones (Lee, H. 2024). Malicious actors may prey on them and
their digital forensics, a form of identity theft, seeking to exploit their financial information, social
security numbers, and other identify information. The damage can be significantly burdensome (Lee, H.
2024).
Challenges, Concerns at the User Level?
The article addresses another important cyber threat, the language barrier (Lee, H. 2024). Using direct
observation, the article discusses cyber risks for non-English speaking users. Again, the findings reveal
that education and awareness is the best way to promote cybersecurity. Furthermore, cyber bullying is
also identified as a threat that will further require cyber education to protect young adults’ well-being
(Lee, H. 2024).
The article focuses on the population of young adults because of their overwhelming use of the internet
and online platforms. Young adults tend to be more trusting, and it is important to protect them from the
widespread increase of cybercrime.
Conclusion
The best way to create a safe cyberspace is to educate its most vulnerable users. Education and awareness
of the cyber risks associated with the digital world and online communications is the only way to
minimize cybercrimes. Cyber threats can impact personal, work, and societal measures. The best
cybersecurity is knowledge and awareness. Taking proactive measures is the investment into creating a
cyber infrastructure safeguarded against those malicious actors.
References:
Lee, H. (2024).
