WHAT IS SUCCESS?

Success can be a very tricky word.  What I might consider success may not be success for another.  My definition of success would be achieving the goals that someone sets for themselves.  It is always important to have goals and to set the bar high.  It is also very important to set realistic goals, because setting them too high may be more like milestone and not a realistic goal that you can expect to achieve in a certain period of time.  The sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with success is addicting and second to none for me.  When I get to a point where I am seeing the successes within my efforts, it becomes an adrenaline rush that makes me more motivated and more eager to get ready to reach that next milestone.  I think it is important to not rest on your laurels that moment you start to feel some version of success, because it can lead to complacency which can lead to mistakes.  My entire life has been built and molded into being successful.  I am a first-generation U.S. citizen; I was able to learn and see firsthand that my parents came to this country with nothing and sacrificed everything they had just for me and my siblings to have the liberties and opportunities that come with living in the U.S.  The road to that success motivates me and drives me to be a better person and to live up to the expectations that I set for myself, and my peers around me.
