Social entrepreneurship focuses on creating positive change in the world first, unlike business entrepreneurship which looks at creating a change or profit through whatever service they may provide. A good example of a social entrepreneurship company that I have read about was TOMS the footwear company. The founder visited Africa and was surprised to see how many people could not afford shoes, so for every pair sold across the globe, the company donated a pair to those in need. Being a social entrepreneur puts a focus on leaving your community or world in a better condition than how you found it. The decisions you make towards the business are for improving those facts, and not so much for personal financial gain. Not all entrepreneurs are ready for that life, it takes people that have certain characteristics. Those are innovative, empathetic, passionate about social issues and many more. It is not a lifestyle or direction for everyone. You have to look for those same qualities in the people you employ in order to build that cohesive team focused on those business goals.
