Cybersecurity technology is actually a new found interest for me. I have always had a general interest in technology since I was young, but I grew up in a very rural part of Virginia. While I did have access to a lot of things like computers, phones, and others I wasn’t able to experience how impressive and cool it could be.

In college I saw my friends doing new things that they nor I have ever learned before. like learning how to properly troubleshoot and fix components on computers, that I would have to bring somewhere to even think about fixing. Then I was able to see their knowledge about computers grow even more. Now they were able to code in programs, mess around in different systems like Linux and show me how they can snoop around looking at different things. all that stuff I thought would be too hard to even understand in the first place. Then I took the time to look into cybersecurity and the pros of after college life seemed amazing. There are possibilities of working from home or even the complete opposite, working with your hand and actually building computers for clients. The range of jobs and positions you can fill with knowing tech and cybersecurity seemed too good to pass up. All of that hooked me into wanting to get out of the slow, monotonous school work learning about the same things I have been learning about sense high school. Being able to start learning something new in college that I deal with in my everyday life, and is actually interesting and fulfilling and making a career out of it seemed really nice.  

In summary, why I am interested in cybersecurity technology is really to take advantage of the opportunity to learn something completely new that interests me and to make a career fulfilling career out of it.
